Neil,

The most valuable naturopathic oncology information I have learned is through your book, which I use a lot. I have recommended your book to several fellow doc, all of whom are not only proud owners, but find it just as amazing as I did!! Yeah, I’m a huge fan.

It is clinically relevant, incredibly useful, readable, and fabulous, unlike anything else out there. Ive read so many oncology books: they’re either stupidly technical or so dumbed down for the lay person they they’re of no value to me. Thank you a thousand times for your outstanding book! – Signed L.B, Naturopathic Physician

Dr. McKinney,

I do believe that you have been the Major Factor in my recovery …starting with my very first contact and your recommending my having surgery. At the  time it was the absolute last procedure that I wanted and found no reason to trust any of the opinions from the surgeons/doctors/oncologists/naturopaths that had told me that (or other treatments) as well. Why?

Because I trusted you .. you are honest, upfront and full of supporting data … you said it like it was! You probably saved me many years of exhaustion, agony, grief, stress (need I continue?) and more so my Life! And the opportunity to have quality of life and face the reality of my diagnosis. You have my Trust like no other … I am lost as to how to show this, so please if there is some path that you would like me to travel or some deed that you would like me to go forward with, you must let me know. I want to be as positive for others as you have been for me, I am sincere in what I have just said …  Signed, J.E.H.

Hello Dr. McKinney,

I wanted to share with you a success story with a rare and difficult cancer which I credit to your book, Naturally There is Always Hope.

Patient is a 52 yr old female, she came after surgery for retroperitoneal leiomyosarcoma  grade 3, 14 cm in  dimension, diagnosed May 2009. Metastasized to the lungs. After surgery I put her on your supplements.

Since the surgery and the protocol has shown no interval change in size or growth. She will remain off of chemo as long as disease remains stable. She is otherwise healthy and leading a fulfilling life.

Thank you for all the contributions you are making to integrative oncology.

Signed, D.A, ND – Naturopathic Resident

To my fellow cancer sufferers;

I know your fears because I too had them. Faith seems to flee in the place  of terror. I would urge you to see that radiation and/or chemo therapy is/ are not the sole cure for cancer. Two years, 2 months, and 2 days ago I was rushed to hospital.  A CT scan revealed an egg sized tumour in my transverse colon, and many infected lymph nodes were causing continuous bouts of diarrhea, severe stomach cramps, and vomiting. The news of cancer uprooted my world.

My daughter J, of Northern California dropped life to look after me. The cancer clinic of Victoria, BC gave me a long list of caveats about my taking their only panacea; chemotherapy. At best they gave me a 33% chance of living between 6 to 12 months if I were to take the therapy. The cancer clinic gave no nutritional advice. What to do? J did an enormous amount of research online and in books. Vitamin C intravenous treatment led her, indirectly, to Dr. McKinney, of Victoria. We agreed to try this holistic, natural approach to healing.

He was open on the choice to take or not to take chemotherapy. We declined. Dr. McKinney’s book “Naturally There is Always Hope” and Dr. McKinney himself gave me assurance and confidence that I could get healed.

I had the vitamin C therapy, twice a week for 6 weeks. It provided, along with a complete dietary revolution and adherence to the Glycemic index, the way to my recovery. I took nutritional advice and supplements from Dr. McKinney’s naturopathic clinic; I have my blood tested through the cancer clinic and am fortunate to lead a full and energetic life. In short, I owe my life to my daughter who supported me in my wish to take a natural rather than a drug approach, and to her for finding Dr. McKinney who started me on my healthy, confident way. I have also furthered my spiritual journey, which includes believing in miracles, or the impossible.

I wish you a similar path of healing and inspiration!

Sincerely. SR

This is my story of living with cancer and role Dr. McKinney and his wife Lynda have played in my healing journey.

In 1992, at the age of 43, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and, after surgery and chemotherapy treatments, I was considered “cancer free”.  I have always been a strong believer in natural medicine and followed a protocol recommended by a Naturopath during my treatments, as well as in the years following.

Here’s the bad news:  In 2002 it was discovered that my cancer had metastasized to multiple areas of my bones.  At the time of diagnosis I was in such severe pain that I was forced to give up my job.  Chemotherapy was not successful and I was given a probable 2 year, possible 3 year prognosis.  My pain was not managed well with morphine, and the side effects of nausea, fatigue and constipation were difficult to deal with.  I was receiving help from the Palliative Care Team to manage my pain, I lost my appetite and I slept most of the time.  I depended a great deal on friends to help with meals and household chores.

Here’s the good news:  In January 2003, I was fortunate to hear about Dr. McKinney and his dedication to naturopathic cancer research and treatment.  From our very first meeting, I knew I was going to put myself totally in his care.  I was most impressed with his knowledge of the most recent cancer studies and research, his compassion and his honesty.  He told me that, although he could not cure me (my cancer was too far advanced), he hoped to give me a few more years and a better quality of life.  This he has done – I was given a maximum of 3 years and it’s now been over 5 years!

Dr. McKinney’s cancer treatment has been simple and most effective for me.  While I continued taking a drug called Arimadex, an estrogen blocker recommended by my Oncologist, I immediately replaced my morphine with Dr. McKinney’s protocol.  Within a couple of weeks my pain began to decrease and my energy level gradually increased to the point where, eventually, I was able to return to work on a part time basis.  And no more of those nasty side effects of the morphine!  Dr. McKinney has continued to monitor my disease closely and has made necessary changes in medication or dosages from time to time, based on results of newest research.

Dr. McKinney and Lynda have both touched my life in countless ways.  They witness, every day in their clinic, how devastating a cancer diagnosis can be.  They understand and they truly care…  Always just a phone call away, they have been there for me emotionally, spiritually and physically.  They have become cherished friends.  I know that I am here today because of their loving care.  I am now enjoying my life and I will be forever grateful to them.                                                                                                                                                         A.R

Greetings, Neil.

First of all,……. and I want to thank you sincerely for all that you did with and for …… and myself. Again, we are recommending you and your practice to many. What I remember the most beyond your knowledge and experience, is your true and sincere compassion and your willingness to listen and learn.

We are again in your capable hands, Neil.

Sincerely, B.H.

Dear Dr. McKinney,

Thank you so much for all the time you gave me yesterday.  I just can’t put into words what you and Lynda have done for me – the most important is in giving me hope when I thought  there was none.  How can I adequately thank you for that?  But THANK YOU just the same!    I so appreciate your wisdom and vast knowledge on so many topics.  I was quite excited when I first learned of these foot spas, but there was just something nagging at me and stopping me from ordering one, something just didn’t seem right, so thank you for all your knowledge on the subject. Thank you for all the information

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU,

May God Bless you both in abundant ways,
C.L.

Dear Dr. McKinney:

I ordered your book, and received it a few weeks ago, and  have read it and read it and read it.  It is wonderful!  I love the layout and how you have made everything so simple to understand.  I wanted to really thank you for writing it.  Thank you for your dedication and all your hard work.  I can only imagine the vast amount of time and energy it took to write such a book.  Your book is so desperately needed in a sea of conventional books that are all so gloomy and hopeless, that make you feel that cancer always wins, and your only hope lies in toxic drugs that might kill you before the cancer does.  When I’m reading your book I am continually reminded of how pwerful the changes I choose to make can be.

Thank you for empowering and giving hope to me, and so many people living with cancer.  Your work will touch, impact, and make an incredible difference to so many lives, as it has mine. Thank you too for helping me so much in the past.  I am doing all you have suggested and am constantly tweaking and refining my eating habits and lifestyle – I even feel I am beginning to win the sugar battle ( why is that soooooo hard???)!  I feel that because of you i will be able to beat the 15% chance I have of my breast cancer metastasizing.  Not only does that mean I get to live my life, but 2 very small kids get their mom and a a husband keeps his wife.  How could any of us possibly thank you adequately for all of that!!!

I truly thank God for you and your work.

So gratefully yours,
“patient X” received nov. 22, 2003

Hello Dr. McKinney, Linda and the gals,
A HUGE thank you for the generosity of your time last Thursday!  You are a wonderful team and have made a tremendous difference in how I now view my treatment plan.
Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions and mostly, thank you for the peace of mind I now have heading into treatment.  In my mind, it is he most important piece in this very large and complicated puzzle!

Lynda I am honoured to provide a testimonial as to the caring and support I have received from you and Neil on my healing journey from brain cancer.  As you know my path back to health has been supported by a integrated approach using naturopathy including Reiki.  Often during this difficult circumstance I have found myself out of alignment and following our sessions of Reiki and discussion I am re-energized and back on my path to recovery.  It is one of those processes that unless a person experiences it for themselves it is hard to understand.

During my radiation treatment I made a decision not to use dexatron, a steroid to reduce brain swelling from the radiation.  This decision was not made lightly but given the side effects of the steroids I spoke to Neil about alternatives and consistant with my integrated approach I took a naturopathic product that proved amazing.  While taking this supplement I was able to go through my sessions of radiation without the headaches common with this treatment.

I am also taking other supplements as recommended by Neil and my tumour and cancer are currently in remission.   I know your clinic has played a major role in this along with the traditional biomedicine of surgery, radiation and chemo.

Thank you with all my heart and I only wish that our system was more open to the integrated approach practised by you and Neil.

Yours in health

D.J.

Dear Lynda,

I wanted to thank you so much for the Reiki treatment for each of my three children; my youngest child, F. is in France right now. I would love to get F. in to see you when he returns from France, but typically he resists, all together, anything outside of his realm of experience.

Anyways, each of my three children really loved their Reiki session with you.  J. said that he has never before experienced such relaxation – in his words, “I’ve never experienced anything like it”. Each of the girls said they loved the treatment and found it so relaxing.  They enjoyed the tea with you as well, a very- nice-caring in a very busy day-to-day life. When they come back home, I am going to book them in with you again.

Thanks!

C.W., Mother

First of all I want to thank you for giving me something that had been taken from me upon my diagnosis with breast cancer. After meeting with you a couple of weeks ago, I left your office feeling like I had taken back a portion of the control of my life that I had lost The fact that I am now taking an active role in some of the many choices to be made as to how and what kind of treatment I choose to fight this nasty disease using all resources available has left me feeling back in charge and a lot more confident. I have always been a believer in good health, nutrition and taking care and now, with what’s ahead, there are tools available to aid me in the battle to come. You seem to be a very dedicated and knowledgeable Dr. and I feel confident in the amount of study and time you have devoted your life to in order to gain understanding of this disease and many others I’m sure. Both you and Lynda are kind and gentle souls who after but one visit have made me feel extremely comfortable at one of the hardest periods in my life to date
Graciously,
S

Dear Dr. McKinney,

Thank you so much for your response and for just taking so much of your time to answer me. When I go in to my surgeon this Thursday to get the test results I wanted to have a clear plan of my own to discuss with her if she tells me it is in fact cancer. The first time going through all this I made decisions based on fear and intense pressure from others. If it happens again I want to be in control, and so having this plan, and now knowing it is a pretty good one helps me tremendously. I feel hope! Saying “Thank You” to you is so very inadequate, but Thank You just the same,

My Dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2007. He underwent surgery and after surviving complications from that, he was given one month to live. With no hope except my Dad’s positive attitude we came to see Dr.McKinney. From the moment we called the office, Lynda and Talia gave us SO much hope –  more  than we had felt in months.

Dr.McKinney set us on a course of action that he tweaks from time to time. It is now one year later and my dad is still with us, and doing well!

Dr.McKinney pays attention to every detail and is brilliant. My dad would not be here today without Dr. Neil McKinney.

Lynda – well, she is the icing on the cake. Her warmth radiates like a warm blanket. This trait has been passed on to her daughter, Talia who works in the clinic as well.

We want to thank this amazing team for giving us an incredible year of memories!

Love Always,
P & H .M., B & J .M., and all the grandkids

To whom it may concern:

When the doctors diagnosed me with cancer of the  pancreas and told me they could not do anything to treat it I was devastated, NO HOPE, I could not believe it, then someone told me about Dr. McKinney a Naturopathic doctor with a specialty in cancer treatments.  Dr. McKinney and his wife were so kind and gave me much encouragement through this difficult time.  Dr. McKinney put me on a regiment of several vitamins, herbs, and herbal injections three times a week to fight cancer.  My joy was great, now after only three months I feel great, it is not over yet but I know we will win, thanks to Dr. McKinney who not only gave me hope but also quality of life.

Sincerely,        H.K.

Dear Dr. McKinney,
thank you for your very helpful information!

Cancer is a horrible thing to get. But I have to say so far it was also a positive experience. I got so much help from you, I met so many very friendly and helpful people in the cancer clinic here and in Prince George.

I just wanted to thank you again for helping me through this experience. Not only was the advice you gave very helpful, but is also gave me peace of mind, and I am not sure what I would have done without you.

Have a wonderful long weekend with your family!

Yours truly,xx
